NUSL provides limited funding to support Full-time and FlexJD students participating in unpaid public interest and judicial co-op opportunities. Funding is not guaranteed, and you must apply in order to be considered. Not all students will receive an award.

Quick Overview

Key Requirements

• Apply in the term prior to your co-op (applications open ~1 month before co-op begins)
• Co-op must be unpaid public interest or judicial position in the U.S.
• Complete FAFSA and meet with Financial Aid Office
• Cannot receive other employer or external funding

Funding Types

• Donor Stipends: Up to $5,000 (one-time payment)
• Federal Work-Study: $4,500-$7,800 (bi-weekly at $15/hour)

You cannot choose funding type—this is determined by NUSL based on availability and your financial aid package.
